LRC™ LAMINATE EPW 13

LRC LAMINATE EPW 13 is a solvent-free, epoxy-based, moisture-tolerant, two-component epoxy lamination resin. The mixture viscosity allows it to be used very easily on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Since it does not contain solvents and active substances, it can be used comfortably in closed areas. It is used in the lamination of carbon fibers on concrete, wooden columns, and beams.

Areas of Application:

  • Used in the reinforcement of concrete, wooden columns, and beams
  • Can be used even in moist surfaces and environments.
  • Used as a binder for leveling mortars and screed mortars.

Product Advantages:

  • Since it does not contain solvents and active substances, it can be used comfortably in closed environments
  • Increases the impact resistance and chemical resistance of the applied surface.
  • Has high adhesion strength.
  • Easy and fast to use.
  • Economical.

Description

  • Drying Time:
    • Dust Holding: 90-120 minutes
    • Touch: 7 hours
    • Full Hardening: 7 days
  • Consumption: Varies according to the weight of the carbon fiber. The consumption of LRC LAMINATE EPW 13 is equal to the weight of the fiber. For example; for a fiber of 0.300 kg/m², 0.300 kg of LRC LAMINATE EPW 13 is required.
  • Storage: Shelf life ~ 12 months. Products should be stored in a cool and dry environment.

Additional information

Surface Preparation

Concrete, wooden columns, and beams to be applied should be cleaned of loose parts, oil, and other chemicals. The surfaces to be applied should be impregnated with a solvent-free, moisture-tolerant, or non-moisture-tolerant epoxy impregnation primer with a consumption of 0.100 – 0.150 kg/m². Following this, LRC LAMINATE EPW 13 is applied on concrete elements that have been previously injected with epoxy and/or repaired with epoxy repair materials. Carbon fiber is laid on the applied LRC LAMINATE EPW 13 and laminated and bonded with a lamination roller.

Preparation Instructions

Component A is first mixed within itself. Component B (small box) hardener is poured into component A (large box) and the entire mixture is homogenized by mixing with a suitable mixer for three minutes.

Application

The mixed mixture is applied with a roller or brush to the surfaces of concrete elements that have been previously injected with epoxy, epoxy-based repairs, and epoxy impregnation primer applications. The LRC LAMINATE EPW 13 that overflows from the fibers is absorbed into the carbon fiber, completing the process. If plaster, etc. is to be applied to columns and beams, the surface should be roughened by sprinkling quartz on LRC LAMINATE EPW 13. Only the amount needed for adhesion should be used.

Things to pay attention

• The concrete surface must be solid and have sufficient compressive strength (minimum 25 N/mm²).
• Irreversible gelation will begin approximately 45 minutes after mixing. This cannot be detected by eye.
• Do not use material that cannot be used within the usage period.

General considerations

The above product information and explanations are based on our experience and the end result of our careful research. The diversity of the materials involved, the different construction and working conditions cannot be individually controlled or influenced by us. In non-control applications, the warranty status is limited only to the quality of the product sold. There is no guarantee for the application other than the production of the product. This technical paper invalidates the previous existing form. The quality of the work done may vary depending on your professional use of the product. If you are unsure, do a little test or get technical help.

Disposal

Empty packaging can be disposed of in collection boxes according to local-local regulations or recycling rules. After drying and hardening the used waste material, dispose of it as construction waste. It is dangerous to destroy product residues by burning.
