Drying Time | Drying times generally depend on air circulation, temperature, film thickness, and the number of coats applied, and may be affected accordingly. The data presented in the table below are based on the following assumptions:
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
Surface Temperature | 5°C | 10°C | 23°C | 40°C
Surface Dry | 8 h | 4 h | 2 h | 1 h | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Hard Dry | 48 h | 24 h | 12 h | 8 h | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Overcoating Interval, Minimum | 16 h | 8 h | 6 h | 3 h
Overcoating Interval, Maximum | 3 day | 2 day | 1 day | 12 h
Safety Precautions | · The minimum overcoating interval with approved topcoats is 48 hours. Before topcoat application, it must be ensured that the required C FR 90 W paint film thickness has been achieved.”
· “Before paint application, the surface must be free from dirt and chalking.” · “For optimum intercoat adhesion, the subsequent coat should be applied before the existing paint is fully cured. If this interval is exceeded, the surface may need to be lightly roughened.” · “If the surface is exposed to high humidity and low temperature before full curing, changes in color and gloss may occur.” · “Primers and topcoats must be fully compatible with C FR 90 W to achieve the required fire performance. For information on approved primers and topcoats, please contact your local C Construction Office.” · Note: The above information provides only general application guidelines. Actual drying and curing times may vary depending on film thickness, ventilation, the existing coating system on the surface, treatments applied to the coating, and its mechanical resistance.
